چکیده
In this work, an original way of shaping chalcogenide optical components has been investigated. Thorough evaluation the properties glasses before and after 3D printing carried out in order to determine impact additive manufacturing process on material. evaluate potential such glass manufacturing, several preliminary results obtained with various objects components, as cylinders, beads, drawing preforms sensors, are described discussed. This innovative method opens for many applications involving fiber elaboration, but also other devices.

متن کاملLinear and nonlinear optical properties of chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers
Chalcogenide glasses are known for their large transparency in the mid-infrared and their high linear refractive index (>2). They present also a high non-linear coefficient (n2), 100 to 1000 times larger than for silica, depending on the composition. we have developed a casting method to prepare the microstructured chalcogenide preform. This method allows optical losses as low as 0.4 dB/m at 1....

متن کاملChalcogenide Glass Optical Waveguides for Infrared Biosensing
Due to the remarkable properties of chalcogenide (Chg) glasses, Chg optical waveguides should play a significant role in the development of optical biosensors. This paper describes the fabrication and properties of chalcogenide fibres and planar waveguides. Using optical fibre transparent in the mid-infrared spectral range we have developed a biosensor that can collect information on whole meta...
متن کاملCasting method for producing low-loss chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers.
We report significant advances in the fabrication of low loss chalcogenide microstructured optical fiber (MOF). This new method, consisting in molding the glass in a silica cast made of capillaries and capillary guides, allows the development of various designs of fibers, such as suspended core, large core or small core MOFs. After removing the cast in a hydrofluoric acid bath, the preform is d...
